Another Day in Naples
Matt and I found a lot that we love!!!
It’s a “decent” price. The location is “essentially” the same as our old house. We would “get” to build again…
And, just as fast as we decided we liked it, it went under contract.
So that sucked a little bit.
Then I had my cardiologist appointment. (No real answers yet. Several tests in the works…)
But while I was pacing the parking lot, talking to Matt on the phone, telling him how I’m apparently dehydrated and should take Aleve and maybe I had COVID at some point without knowing it… I saw a $20 bill in the landscaping. It was folded in half, and I 100% expected it to be fake. (Have you ever seen those pieces of paper lying around that look like money, then when you unfold them, there’s a message or an advertisement inside? Like “Jesus loves you” or something?) But it was real—continuing my streak of finding money to be the only form of litter in this town.
I scooped it up, feeling guilty like I was stealing from someone, and there was another $20 bill lying up against the curb. And another one in some leaves. And another one under a bush.
It was a big medical center with lots of individual offices—no one main desk to hypothetically turn the money in to…
So I tucked the $80 into my pocket as a consolation prize for missing out on the “perfect” square of land:)
